A cousin to the infamous Komodo Dragon has been recently discovered in the Philippines, according to wired.com. Though the reptile (named Varanus Bitatawa) matures to nearly two meters long, it has remained virtually unknown to scientists until now. A delicacy to forest tribes, the lizard is scared of humans and lounges mostly in trees, where it dines on fruit while expertly hidden. Deforestation threatens the area where the lizard was recently discovered. To learn more about rainforest conservation, and how you can help, please visit rainforestconservation.org.
