It's a true testament to the wonders of technology that you can own a shoe that looks street-smart but feels like a winter hiker. And you have plenty of options, but these six classy kicks made the cut for us.

(Timberland)

Timberland Heston Mid

The Heston’s rich oxblood-mahogany hue is a subtle way to stand out at any post-ski watering hole. But this boot is hardly a style piece, with waterproof leather and a Gore-Tex bootie to protect your feet from parking-lot slush, plus a Pendleton wool collar to keep you toasty.

(SeaVees)

SeaVees Army Issue High

If canvas high-tops are classic, then SeaVees’ Army Issue sneaker is luxe. It’s also damn useful after skiing. The oiled-suede upper repels snow while adding a hint of sophistication, the bamboo-canvas footbed reduces stink, and the gum-rubber outsole adds grip on sidewalks.

Price $138
(Sorel)

Sorel Cheyanne

Sorel took the classic duck boot and slimmed it down without gutting it. Treated leather and sealed seams prevent water from seeping in, while the herringbone-patterned rubber outsole keeps you upright on slick cement. Plus, the seven ounces of synthetic insulation in the body are rated to minus 25 degrees, so you won’t risk frostbite.

Price $135
(OluKai)

OluKai Moloa

After a long day in ski boots, no man should have to wedge his feet into something uncomfortable. Thankfully, the Moloa slipper’s drop heel makes slip-ping it on a cinch. The shearling liner and merino-covered footbed are plush against bare skin, perfect for a relaxed evening in front of a roaring fire. Bonus: the hand-sewn nubuck leather upper only gets cozier with wear.

Price $120
(Adidas)

Adidas Outdoor Satellize

Think of Adidas’s Satellize as a reverse mullet: party up top, business in the back. The stretchy upper is reminiscent of your favorite broken-in sweatpants, the cushy midsole is as soft as a running shoe’s, and the outsole is robust enough for short hikes. Take the good-looking high-top strutting on moonlit walks (or, better yet, do the moonwalk).

Price $100
(Chrome Industries)

Chrome Industries 503 Combat

The 2014 snowpocalypse proved that winter can be war. Prepare for battle with Chrome’s Combat boot. The knobby rubber tread sticks to slippery surfaces, and the tough Cordura upper means the Combat will probably outlast any other footwear you own. Bonus: bright reflective hits on the heel keep you visible on the way to the pub.
