Good for Resort
Our favorite big-mountain board this year, the reverse-camber Megalight is all about hucking and floating. “I would drop off a cliff on it,” one tester said. “It was amazing in powder and easy to maneuver in the trees.” And while the Megalight is large—sizes start at 158—it’s surprisingly nimble on harder snow. That’s because Nidecker removed a bit of the poplar-ash-and-beech core and subbed in a Kevlar-carbon blend, which stiffens when flexed for stability. 158, 163, 163XL, 167XL; nidecker.com
BonusThe Swiss brand has figured out how to make a base from 40 percent recycled material without compromising performance.
BummerThe carbon blend ups the price.
