Suicidal paddling in Alabama
Question: How may I obtain a canoeing map for the Suicide Section of the Little River Canyon in Alabama? Thanks.

Adventure Adviser: DeSoto State Park will send you a free map of the entire 25-mile Little River Canyon, including the two and a half miles of hysteria-inducing rapids in the aptly named Suicide Section. As you might have guessed, the whole stretch is Class V-plus whitewater that requires exceptional paddling skills and a high tolerance for
fear. No outfitters dare to run the canyon, so you’re on your own for gear and shuttles. Call DeSoto State Park at 205-845-5075 for a map and more details.
