The first day of fall had ski resorts around the country reporting the snow of the season. Though the 2013-2014 ski and snowboard season is still a couple months away, the San Francisco Chronicle reports that Colorado’s Breckenridge was one of the first major resorts to see snow Sunday.

Breckenridge wasn’t alone. Mountain cams atop Vail Mountain show a light dusting of snow, and resorts as far away as New Mexico’s Taos Ski Valley and Tahoe’s Heavenly Mountain Resort are also reporting light dustings.
