The Noor, filmed by Vadim Sherbakov, captures the otherworldly beauty of the planet’s deepest lake, Russia’s Lake Baikal. Located in Siberia, the massive body of water reaches a depth of more than 5,300 feet and is the oldest freshwater lake on earth, dating back an estimated 20 million to 25 million years. Lake Baikal is home to many plant and animal species that can be found only here, including a freshwater-dwelling seal. In winter, frigid temperatures create a new landscape of icebergs and frozen shores.
