Mild Stability
Old perceptions die hard, and a few of our testers initially scoffed at the idea that Puma, better known in other sporting arenas, is making legitimately high-performance running shoes. The Concinnity III changed that. At under ten ounces, it’s a remarkably fast and agile shoe. A rounded heel shape allows for a clunk-free foot strike, and blown rubber in the forefoot makes the toe-off soft and quick. Light medial posting and a small plastic midfoot shank provided enough stability for mild pronators and distances of up to ten miles. That said, on longer runs, we felt as if we needed either more support or more cushion. 9.6 oz; puma.com
