What’s the Best Après Ski Party Gear?

Even though New Year’s Eve is behind us, you can still use skiing as an excuse to crack open a cold one, either at the local bar or in the parking lot

The term might sound pretentious, but all après really means is drinking—or eating or just relaxing—with friends after a long day on the mountain. So even though New Year’s Eve is behind us, you can still use skiing as an excuse to crack open a cold one, either at the local bar or in the parking lot. These six pieces of gear will add to the atmosphere.

Silipint Pint Glass (From $10)

Made from food-grade silicon, Silipint Pint Glasses don’t taste like plastic, and they’re a much better option for the parking lot than glass vessels. The microwave- and dishwasher-safe pint glasses are damn near indestructible and come in more than 50 different colors and patterns.

DrinkTanks Stainless-Steel Growler ($70)

You’ll be the coolest host on the mountain when you break out this DrinkTanks Growler and pour craft beer out of it like a mini keg. This is one of the coolest-looking growlers we’ve seen, thanks to its beefy handle, powder coating, and snapping metal lid. That lid, paired with a CO2-powered keg cap, keeps beer fresh for the better part of a week, no matter how many pours you take from it.

Shotz Ski WT-66 Binding and Boot 4-Pack ($75)

Yes, you can superglue shot glasses to an old pair of sticks to make a DIY shot ski, but we prefer the ready-to-drink kit from Shotz Ski. The WT-66 Binding and Boot Four-Pack comes with clear plastic ski boot shot glasses that attach to the ski via colored bindings. Bonus: The glasses are detachable for easy cleaning.

Klean Kanteen Vacuum-Insulated Water Bottle ($30)

Mix a hot toddy before you head to the slopes—drinking it piping hot at the end of a day on the mountain is a delicious, bacchanalian celebration of the power of vacuum sealing. The 20-ounce Klean Kanteen is a durable water bottle that can keep drinks hot for up to six hours and cold for more than 24.

Jetboil Sumo Cooking System ($140)

Want hot drinks but don’t have enough insulated bottle space? This cooking system from the Jetboil Sumo Cooking System can boil enough water for up to six 10-ounce hot toddies—in under five minutes. You just have to pour the whiskey fast enough.

Sierra Designs Men’s Down Moc ($65)

Let your dogs breathe after a day in ski boots with the Sierra Designs Down Moc. These slippers are roomy enough to let your toes relax, while the 700-fill down will keep you feet warm in subfreezing temperatures.
