Rock climber Colin Duffy doesn’t shy away from hard work. At age 16, he became the youngest climber to qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. He’s won several International Federation of Sport Climbing competitions in the past five years, and he plans to pursue engineering in college one day.

His outdoor climbing on real rock is no less impressive. Black Diamond met up with Duffy in Hurricane, Utah, where he crushed some of its most difficult routes, including the notorious Life of Villains, rated 5.14d and located inside the Hurricave.
